I started my PhD in late 2018 and recently submitted the dissertation for examination. My primary research area revolves around the urban environment. The idea of starting a blog came to my mind towards the end of my PhD. I hold a Master’s degree and a postgraduate diploma from Japan. I completed my basic degree in Sri Lanka. This blog is dedicated to sharing my master’s and PhD journey to help anyone who wants to pursue postgraduate studies. I didn’t have many resources to rely on back in the days when I first started looking for postgraduate studies in STEM. I felt lost most of the time so I know that everyone goes through a similar phase when they initiate this process. I still had to adjust myself to a completely new environment after I moved to Japan for my master’s. So, it is a continuous “learning and adapting” process. Once I commenced my PhD in Australia, I experienced academic and psychological challenges that nobody has ever told me before. I know that each and everyone has unique life experiences when it comes to postgraduate studies. That’s why I decided to create a platform on this blog for others to share their experience as well.
